 Meet your potential Midwife
Deanna CPM, EMT candidate for BS in Holistic Health
Birth is sacred! Beginnings are important!
Women
& babies are designed to experience birth together. Every baby
deserves a good beginning. Moreover, they deserve the opportunity to be
born safely and fully aware into the gentle loving arms of their
mothers while surrounded by family, friends and siblings. Women
are strong, intelligent, intuitively capable human beings who are
perfectly capable to birth their babies safely & lovingly in a calm
familiar environment. I
feel that it would be an honor and a privilege to be included in your
family’s birth experience. I believe that the role of your midwife is
one of respect, protection and guidance. I stress that the relationship
between myself (your midwife) and you (a birthing mother), is
confidential and one of mutual trust and responsibility. I believe my
job as your midwife is to empower your family by bringing my knowledge,
skills and experience to your birth experience. Creature Comforts:

My Training:
- In

discovered Midwifery; I started my Midwifery Career. Due to demands of
my husband’s career, I put my training on hold.
- In
2003, I resumed my training in Midwifery by getting licensed as an EMT
& working as a birth assistant in 2 freestanding birth centers. I
was privileged train in a busy homebirth practice.
- I
excelled as an intern at Casa de Naciemento in El Paso, TX. (Casa is a
high volume, free-standing birth center with a high risk clientèle of
60-100 births per month.) I continue to regularly return to Casa to
work, grow, learn and teach other aspiring midwives.
- During
this journey, I have been privileged to train/work with 14
Midwives (CPM, DEM, CNM) and 2 Doctors (MD & DO). From each I was
given valuable knowledge, insights and wisdom.
- I am forever pursuing educational opportunities to stay current and challenged.
- I am currently completing coursework in a Bachelors degree program in Holistic Health.
- I continue to make myself available to assist other midwives.... they have nuggets of truth, wisdom and experience that are so valuable in my journey as a midwife.
As
a primary midwife, I have been privileged to assist families in more
than 135+ births and have attended an additional 125+ births. References:
